If there is one thing the Sourcebooks Fire design team knows, it is how to make a creepy Natasha Preston book cover. Natasha Preston, a Wattpad breakout star turned #1 New York Times bestselling author, made waves with The Cellar in 2014 and is now the reigning queen of YA thrillers. Read more to see how a "creepy pretty" Natasha Preston cover comes to life. The Queen of YA ThrillersAs most of you know by now, Natasha Preston is a major name on the YA thriller shelf, and as we've built her brand, we're tried to give each of her covers the same feel, while maintaining the unique features of each book. A Natasha Preston cover always has a flower, an eerie setting, and the same title and author branding. Cover designer Elsie Lyons established Natasha’s look and works with us on every cover. Since we use images from stock sites to create the imagery, some covers come easier than others. Also, almost every cover is created with Photoshop magic by compiling multiple images into one scene. There have been times in the review process where a flower or certain parts of the scene just aren’t quite right. As a result, Elsie and I scour the stock sites for the perfect images so that covers we're building are the perfect mix of “creepy pretty.” Take a peek below to see how Natasha’s covers come to life! —Nicole Hower, Art Director - Sourcebooks Fire The CellarYou Will Be MineThe Lost
